Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design and implement the OT network architecture for its data center and power plant assets. You will own end-to-end designs, including LAN/WAN, VLANs, VRFs, firewalls, and secure cloud connectivity, while embedding defense-in-depth and aligning with NIST/ISA/IEC 62443 and NERC CIP.

You will lead equipment selection, design reviews, and handoffs, with travel up to 10% to sites across the US.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing computer networks in the OT energy sector and data center.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure networking, site-to-site connectivity, virtual networks, VPN gateways, cloud firewalls, and hybrid monitoring.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks/Cisco routers, firewalls, and switches, Dell Servers, Hyper-V, VMWare, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Current networking or security certifications such as CCNP/CCNA, PCNSE/PCNSA, GICSP, GRID, CISSP, or Security+.
• Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443, and NERC CIP applicability and compliance processes.
• Demonstrated willingness to travel up to 10% domestically.

Responsibilities

• The Sr. Network Engineer will own the end-to-end OT network architecture from design through commissioning and handover.
• Design resilient, segmented networks including LAN/WAN, VLANs, VRFs, routing, firewalls, DMZs, and secure cloud connectivity.
• Create high- and low-level designs, topology diagrams, IP plans, firewall rules, BOMs, and test plans.
• Lead equipment selection, capacity planning, procurement support, commissioning, and handoff.
• Review designs from EPC/OEM/integrators and ensure reliability and security requirements.
• Embed defense-in-depth using NIST/ISA/IEC 62443 and NERC CIP guidelines.
• Manage security zones, access policies, industrial DMZs, and least-privilege access.
• Secure vendor remote access with VPNs, MFA, jump hosts, and time-bounded access.
• Integrate devices with centralized monitoring, SIEM, and OT-aware visibility tools.
• Assess third-party connections for cybersecurity risk and ensure compliant practices.
