Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain its growing OT network and data center infrastructure. You will guide end-to-end architecture, including LAN/WAN, VLANs, VRFs, firewalls and secure cloud connectivity across energy projects.

You will leverage Azure networking experience, security best practices, and vendor collaboration to meet reliability and cybersecurity goals. Remote-friendly with up to 10% travel; Denver preference considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years managing computer networks in OT energy or data center environments.
• 5+ years experience with Azure networking, site-to-site, VPNs, cloud firewalls, and hybrid monitoring.
• Experience with Palo Alto/Cisco routers, firewalls and switches; Dell Servers, Hyper‑V, VMware, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Certifications such as CCNP/CCNA, PCNSE/PCNSA, GICSP, GRID, CISSP, or Security+.
• Familiarity with NIST/ISA/IEC 62443 and NERC CIP compliance.
• Datacenter knowledge in EPMS/BMS is a plus.
• Broad experience with solar, energy storage or AI applications in renewables is a plus.
• Strong engineering, design and communication skills; self-starter.
• Travel up to 10% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end OT network architecture from design through handover.
• Design resilient LAN/WAN, VLANs, VRFs, routing, firewalls, DMZs, and secure cloud connectivity.
• Develop topology diagrams, IP/VLAN plans, firewall rules and BOMs.
• Lead equipment selection, testing, commissioning and handoff.
• Review EPC/OEM designs; verify reliability, cybersecurity, schedule and budget.
• Embed defense‑in‑depth per NIST/ISA/IEC 62443 and NERC CIP.
• Secure remote access with MFA, VPNs and jump hosts; monitor with SIEM.
• Coordinate with vendors and dependencies in large projects.
