Job summary

Solutions³ LLC is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Hardware Reverse Engineer to support on-site investigations of OT/ICS devices.

Requires US citizenship, active Secret clearance, ability to obtain TS/SCI, and 10+ years of hardware RE experience. Bachelor’s in EE/CE (Master’s preferred) is expected. You will analyze embedded systems, extract malware, and collaborate with R&D teams to advance hardware forensics capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware reverse engineering or embedded systems analysis
• Deep expertise in OT/ICS hardware platforms and vulnerabilities
• Strong firmware reverse engineering skills
• Proficiency with reverse engineering tools (IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja)
• Deep understanding of ARM, MIPS, PowerPC, and other embedded architectures
• Experience analyzing network-edge devices (routers, switches, firewalls, IoT)
• Knowledge of hardware debugging interfaces (JTAG, SWD, UART)
• Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, C, Assembly)
• Understanding of exploitation techniques targeting embedded systems
• Experience with malware analysis in hardware/firmware contexts
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive hardware reverse engineering of OT and IC devices
• Analyze network-edge devices and embedded systems compromised by advanced threats
• Perform deep-dive analysis of proprietary hardware targeted by adversaries
• Document exploitation methodologies and defensive countermeasures
• Collaborate with Solutions³ LLC research teams on analytical capabilities
• Provide reach-back support to operational analysts during investigations
• Identify hardware backdoors, implants, and modifications
• Collaborate with engineers on chip-off forensics procedures
