Job summary

Solutions³ LLC is hiring a Subject Matter Expert II specializing in hardware reverse engineering. This role involves supporting U.S. Government customers with onsite incident response and conducting comprehensive investigations of compromised hardware for operational technology.

The ideal candidate should have over 10 years of experience, a deep understanding of hardware vulnerabilities, and strong reverse engineering skills. The position requires US Citizenship and an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in hardware reverse engineering or embedded systems analysis.
• Deep expertise in OT and ICS hardware systems.
• Ability to analyze novel or proprietary systems with limited documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive hardware reverse engineering of OT and IC devices.
• Analyze network-edge devices compromised by advanced threats.
• Identify and extract deeply embedded malware from hardware components.
• Train analysts on hardware reverse engineering techniques.

Skills

Deep expertise in OT/ICS hardware platforms and vulnerabilities

Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical findings

Strong experience with firmware reverse engineering and analysis

Proficiency with reverse engineering tools (IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja)

Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, C, Assembly)

Deep understanding of ARM, MIPS, PowerPC architectures

Experience analyzing network-edge devices (routers, firewalls)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Master’s degree or PhD preferred
