Job summary

County of Los Angeles Fire Department seeks an experienced Operating Systems Analyst to install, configure, and maintain complex systems and to optimize performance across midrange servers. You will work with vendors to implement patches, manage backups, and document operations.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS and 2 years of centralized IT experience, or alternative qualifying combinations; available shift is Any Shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field with 2 years of experience in centralized IT configuring, analyzing, and maintaining complex systems, including releases, upgrades, or changes to operating systems and servers, with backup/recovery.
• Option II: 1 year of full-time experience as Operating Systems Analyst in last 5 years.
• Option III: 3 years configuring and maintaining complex systems with 2 years in midrange/mainframe and formal change management, backup/recovery.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade operating systems.
• Analyze performance data and adjust configurations to meet service levels.
• Implement backups, restores, and disaster recovery plans.
• Configure servers, peripherals, and storage devices; maintain system docs.
• Coordinate with vendors on patches, upgrades, and tools.
