Qualifications

• Two years of experience as an Orthoptist including teaching experience.
• Experience in a high-volume clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts a teaching program for technical employees of the New England Eye Center.
• Performs and analyzes results for treatment of eye-related illnesses.

Skills

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of eyes and common diseases

Ability to use and maintain orthoptic instruments

Teaching skills for training orthoptic/ophthalmic technician students

Analytical skills for patient evaluation

Interpersonal skills for patient interaction

Ability to assess needs of adult and pediatric patients

Ability to explain exam process to patients

Ability to work in a high-volume clinic

Knowledge of sterile technique
