Job summary

King Edward VII's Hospital in Marylebone seeks a Senior Theatre Practitioner – Orthopaedics to join the on-site theatre team. The role involves skilled clinical and technical assistance across orthopaedic procedures, ensuring patient safety and high standards of care within a four-theatre facility.

You will support anaesthetic and surgical procedures, assist with patient preparation, and participate in induction and ongoing staff development. A permanent, full-time position with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• RN – 1st level registration for adult and/or child.
• Diploma or degree in health care studies.
• ODP Level 3 NVQ and ODA 752 accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as part of the operating theatre team.
• Position and prepare patients; label and dispatch specimens to the lab.
• Maintain infection control, sterile technique, and asepsis in theatre.
• Induct new staff and support personal development plans.
• Prepare patients for anaesthetic and operative procedures and assist.
• Take charge of the clinical area in absence of advanced practitioner.
• Ensure equipment checks and report faults; maintain patient and staff safety.
