Job summary

Popular Democracy is seeking a Senior Organizer to lead strong organizing programs with assigned affiliates. This role serves as the primary contact for affiliates and provides direct support to drive member recruitment and capacity building.

The Senior Organizer will work with Organizing Directors to assess programs, set goals, and track progress. Some field deployment may be required, including travel 1–2 times per month, with cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in grassroots organizing, base-building, campaigning, or electoral engagement.
• Strong project management skills with experience implementing systems/processes.
• Experience using digital organizing tools (EveryAction, ThruTalk, Hustle).
• Ability to facilitate meetings and trainings using popular education methods.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse partners and communities.
• Commitment to scaled recruitment and leadership development, including for marginalized groups.
• Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and maintain relationships with affiliate organizations, partners, policymakers, and funders.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned affiliates to drive growth and capacity building.
• Assess affiliate organizing programs and help set organizing metrics and capacity goals; track progress.
• Contribute to developing and implementing scaled organizing programs.
• Lead training and “train the trainer” activities with affiliates and their members.
• Lead regular relational organizing spaces to practice leadership skills and scale base-building.
• Collaborate on programs to drive member engagement and development.
• Use current technology to evaluate organizing methods and achieve scaled outreach and activation of members.
• Coordinate data collection and prepare reports for management and funders.
• Support fundraising by preparing background materials and helping with grant proposals.
• Other duties as needed.
