Job summary

Hyundai AutoEver America seeks an experienced Database Administrator II to oversee Oracle and SQL Server databases in an enterprise IT environment. The role emphasizes performance tuning, security, backup, DR, and high availability, with mentoring of junior DBAs and cross-functional collaboration.

Five to seven years of hands-on DB experience is expected. The position requires onsite work in Savannah, GA, and offers opportunities to influence database architecture and drive modernization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline preferred.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience administering large-scale Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Experience with database performance tuning, backup & recovery, security management, and high availability solutions.
• Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise systems and applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain enterprise Oracle and SQL Server database environments.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and uptime of critical database systems.
• Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks, system issues, and database failures.
• Design, implement, and maintain database architectures that support business needs.
• Evaluate and recommend database technologies to improve scalability and efficiency.
• Support application development teams in database design, optimization, and implementation.
• Implement and maintain database security standards, policies, and auditing mechanisms.
• Develop, maintain, and test backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, patching, and maintenance activities.
• Monitor growth and plan capacity for future needs.
• Mentor junior DBAs and lead database-related projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, infrastructure, cybersecurity).
• Provide on-call support and 24x7 coverage when required.
