Experience Level: 5 to 8+ Years
Location: Chennai / Hybrid (Complete Work From Home available based on capability and project requirements)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days (Strongly Preferred)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Service Bus Developer to take ownership of designing, building, validating, and deploying critical enterprise integration flows.
In this role, you will be accountable for delivering secure, high-throughput, and traceable OSB services that connect an Enterprise CRM platform with cloud endpoints (Azure APIM/APIs) and multiple mission-critical back-office systems (including Enterprise Asset Management, Customer Care & Billing, and Document Management engines). All deliverables must strictly comply with enterprise SOA standards and governance review gates.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Design & Contracts:
- Translate business integration requirements into technical service contracts, canonical message schemas, and field-level mappings.
- Prepare and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), WSDLs, XSDs, sequence diagrams, and interface specifications.
- Participate in design peer reviews and defend integration architectures before formal enterprise SOA Design governance forums.
Pipeline Build & Transformations:
- Design, configure, and develop OSB proxy services, business services, message pipelines, split-joins, and routing/orchestration logic using Oracle Service Bus 11g/12c.
- Author and optimize complex data transformations using XQuery, XSLT, and XPath for heterogeneous multi-system message payloads.
- Implement enterprise integration patterns, including synchronous/asynchronous messaging, content-based routing, message filtering, correlation, idempotency, retries, and dead-letter queue handling.
Security & Infrastructure Integration:
- Configure security policies including WS-Security, mutual TLS (mTLS), certificates, API keys, and service authentication.
- Integrate OSB services with Azure API Management (APIM), modern cloud queues, CRM endpoints, and approved secure network gateways.
Testing, Quality & Governance:
- Construct repeatable unit-test suites covering positive, negative, boundary, security, retry, and fault-path scenarios, retaining verifiable execution evidence.
- Address development peer-review findings to secure formal SOA Development governance approvals.
Triage & Production Support:
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT), End-to-End (E2E), and enterprise performance testing cycles.
- Diagnose server logs, message traces, and transaction dumps to perform root-cause analysis and resolve defects within agreed severity-based SLAs.
Mandatory Qualifications & Technical Experience
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in enterprise integration software engineering, with at least 3 years of hands-on, production-grade development in Oracle Service Bus (OSB 11g or 12c).
- Core Middleware: Deep expertise in OSB and Oracle SOA Suite tooling; solid understanding of WebLogic Server administration, deployment lifecycles, and runtime concepts.
- Protocols & Schemas: Thorough mastery of SOAP, REST, HTTP/S, WSDL, XSD, XML, JSON, and XML schema validation.
- Transformations: Advanced proficiency in XQuery, XPath, and XSLT.
- Messaging: Strong practical knowledge of JMS or comparable enterprise messaging brokers, transactional queues, and error-handling pipelines.
- Security Standards: Hands-on experience configuring WS-Security, PKI/Certificates, SSL/TLS, and token-based authentication.
- Governance & Delivery: Demonstrated track record working within formal SOA quality gates, architecture review boards, and release management controls.
Preferred / Advantageous Skills
- Current Oracle SOA Suite / Oracle Service Bus certification.
- Working knowledge of Azure integration components (Azure APIM, Azure Functions, Azure Storage Queues).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Dataverse integration patterns.
- Experience in utility, energy, or large public-sector enterprise IT environments.
Communication & Delivery Competencies
- Articulate Communication: Excellent verbal and written technical English skills, with the ability to clearly explain integration contracts, system dependencies, and failure modes to architects, testers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Triage Leadership: Structured, methodical problem-solving and diagnostic ability during live defect-triage calls across multi-tier environments.
- Accountability: Disciplined adherence to configuration management, traceable documentation, and project milestone schedules.
Key Performance Deliverables
- Approved SOA Design Artifacts: ICDs, mapping sheets, and WSDLs approved with zero unresolved governance findings.
- Production-Grade OSB Components: Verified pipelines passing peer reviews and static scans without critical vulnerabilities.
- Documented Unit Test Evidence: Complete test execution packs demonstrating edge-case and failure-path coverage.
- Repeatable SIT Packages: Traceable, version-controlled deployment packages with clear environment property promotion.
- Timely Defect Resolution: Rapid analysis and fix deployment for integration bugs logged during testing windows.
