Job summary

Adaptive Solutions Group seeks a Sr. Database Engineer in Clayton, MO to design, implement, and maintain production and non-production databases using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. You will optimize performance, ensure security, and support RMAN backups.

You will collaborate with development teams, create automation scripts, participate in on-call rotations, and guide database initiatives. Strong SQL tuning, analytical skills, and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Oracle database development/administration in production.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
• Expertise in SQL tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience RMAN backups and recovery.
• Knowledge of database monitoring, storage, and security.
• Experience UNIX shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, maintain, document, and support production and non-production databases.
• Ensure solutions meet requirements and organizational standards.
• Monitor daily database operations: performance, capacity, security, patching, and health.
• Analyze database performance and tune for efficiency and reliability.
• Gather requirements, research and evaluate technology solutions.
• Develop and maintain SQL, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL code.
• Implement and support backup and recovery processes.
• Create and maintain automation scripts using UNIX shell scripting.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver database solutions.
• Serve as SME and provide guidance on complex database initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance.
