Adaptive Solutions Group seeks a Sr. Database Engineer in Clayton, MO to design, implement, and maintain production and non-production databases using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. You will optimize performance, ensure security, and support RMAN backups.

You will collaborate with development teams, create automation scripts, participate in on-call rotations, and guide database initiatives. Strong SQL tuning, analytical skills, and communication are essential.

Qualificações

• 3+ years Oracle database development/administration in production.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
• Expertise in SQL tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience RMAN backups and recovery.
• Knowledge of database monitoring, storage, and security.
• Experience UNIX shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

Sr. Database Engineer Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract-to-hire, or direct placement positions to companies throughout the Midwest. We are currently looking for a Sr. Database Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, maintain, document, and support production and non-production databases and data dictionaries.
• Ensure database solutions comply with application requirements and organizational standards.
• Monitor daily database operations, including performance, capacity, security, patching, and overall system health.
• Analyze database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency and reliability.
• Gather requirements, conduct research, and evaluate technology solutions to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain SQL, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL database code.
• Implement and support database backup and recovery processes.
• Create and maintain automation and administration scripts using UNIX shell scripting.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality database solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on complex database initiatives.
• Participate in on-call support rotations and assist with after-hours maintenance and application releases as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Oracle database development and/or administration experience in a production environment.
• Strong experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
• Expertise in SQL tuning, query optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience developing and supporting SQL, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL database solutions.
• Experience implementing and maintaining backup and recovery strategies, including Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
• Knowledge of database monitoring, performance tuning, storage management, and security administration.
• Experience creating and maintaining UNIX shell scripts.
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, platforms, and applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle ASM.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases, including DynamoDB.
• Experience working with vector database technologies.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Experience supporting highly available and mission-critical database environments.
