Job summary

Veracity Engineering in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator with PL/SQL development expertise to support mission-critical systems within a secure, cloud-enabled environment.

You will manage Oracle databases, optimize performance, implement backups and disaster recovery, and collaborate with developers and engineers on data solutions across production and non-production environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Advanced proficiency in PL/SQL development and performance tuning.
• Strong experience with Oracle 12c/19c (or later).
• Experience with RMAN, Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Solid understanding of database security, roles, and access controls.
• Experience supporting high-availability and mission-critical systems.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases in production and non-production environments.
• Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Support database deployments, CPUs, and upgrades.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with federal standards.
• Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and stakeholders on data solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide root cause analysis.
• Support API integrations and data pipelines (RESTful services, ETL processes).
• Maintain database documentation, data models, and data dictionaries.
