Job summary

Technologent, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support and maintain enterprise Oracle databases with a focus on high availability, performance optimization, disaster recovery, replication, and architecture.

7+ years of experience preferred. The role includes administering Oracle RAC environments, tuning performance, implementing backup/recovery strategies, and managing Data Guard and GoldenGate replication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience administering Oracle databases in enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands‑on experience managing Oracle RAC environments.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle SQL performance tuning and optimization.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of Oracle SQL Tuning Advisor and related database performance analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of SQL Plan Management and execution plan optimization.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle backup and recovery technologies and procedures.
  • Strong experience administering and troubleshooting Oracle Data Guard environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and internals.
  • Experience with database table design, data structures, indexing strategies, and physical database architecture.
  • Experience with disaster recovery architectures and Data Guard configurations.
  • Strong knowledge of GoldenGate configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience contributing to enterprise database architecture and design decisions.
  • Working knowledge of Exadata and its integration with Oracle database environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze complex database issues and develop effective technical solutions.
  • Experience working with production‑critical Oracle database environments.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review and improve existing database designs based on requirements.
  • Support migrations, upgrades, maintenance activities, and production deployments.
  • Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain database administration standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams to resolve database challenges.
  • Support production environments and incident resolution, root‑cause investigations.
  • Apply Oracle DBA best practices to improve reliability and efficiency.

Job description

The Opportunity: We are seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to support and maintain enterprise Oracle database environments, with a strong focus on high availability, performance optimization, disaster recovery, replication, and database architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Oracle RACenvironments to ensure high availability and operational stability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Oracle database performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Perform SQL performance analysis using Oracle tuning tools and advisors.
  • Manage SQL execution plans and implement plan management strategies to maintain consistent application performance.
  • Develop and maintain reliable Oracle database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Perform database recovery activities and support disaster recovery operations.
  • Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Oracle Data Guard environments.
  • Manage Oracle GoldenGate replication and troubleshoot replication-related issues.
  • Design database structures that support scalability, performance, availability, and maintainability.
