Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the West Campus OR team. The CST supports sterile prep, supplies, and room duties for outpatient orthopedic/spine/sports medicine procedures, with 4-10 hour shifts Monday through Friday and no nights or weekends.

CST I/II responsibilities include following procedural guidelines, maintaining patient safety, and collaborating with nurses and surgeons to ensure quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required; maintain.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures.
• Perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care.
• Follow established procedural guidelines for OSH applications in the OR.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program

CST certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting

Basic Life Support certification (AHA/Red Cross)
