Job summary

SMX is seeking an Operations Research Analyst focused on Data Engineering and Analytics to transform disparate data sources into unified analytical datasets for vetting, security, and counterintelligence operations. You will design architectures, build ETL pipelines, and develop data-quality processes to support proactive forecasting and optimization.

The role requires 8+ years in OR or data analytics, strong SQL and Python/R skills, and experience with secure government environments, including

Qualifications

• 8+ years in operations research or data analytics.
• 3–5 years supporting DoD or IC mission areas.
• Expert SQL and relational database design.
• Proficiency in Python or R with data libraries.
• Experience building ETL pipelines across diverse sources.
• Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and dimensional modeling.
• Ability to communicate technical data challenges to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with secure government data environments and active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design data architectures integrating multiple source systems for vetting, security, and counterintelligence.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines from relational databases, files, APIs, and legacy systems.
• Develop entity resolution to link records across systems without unique IDs.
• Create reusable data integration frameworks adaptable to schema changes.
• Develop data quality frameworks assessing completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Document provenance, transformations, quality metrics, and limitations.
