TE Connectivity is seeking a Senior Opto‑Mechanical Engineer to join the Passive Optics group in Webster, NY. The role focuses on designing precision optical assemblies, alignment fixtures, and manufacturing processes for data center applications.

You will design, validate, and optimize opto‑mechanical systems, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure robust performance and manufacturability in high‑volume production environments.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 5–8 years in opto‑mechanical engineering or related advanced tech.
• Hands‑on experience with optical systems, fiber optics, or photonics.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and optical modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Design precision fixtures, mechanical assemblies, and alignment tooling for optical components.
• Develop housings, connectors, subassemblies, and packaging solutions.
• Perform optical and mechanical tolerance analysis for high‑volume production.
• Lead rapid prototyping and validation plans including environmental tests.
