Job summary

Lumen Technologies is hiring a Senior Optical Transport Implementation Engineer - Pub Sec to support a nationwide fiber network and two NOC locations. You will troubleshoot, design, and implement transport solutions while ensuring high availability and security.

This role demands a TS/SCI clearance, 24x7 on-call readiness, and travel up to 10%. The candidate should bring 5+ years in network management, DWDM/SONET/OTN expertise, and familiarity with tools like One Control, MCP, DNA, TNMS, and

Qualifications

Requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT field.
At least 5 years of experience in a network management environment.
Experience with DWDM/SONET/OTN transport systems and related tools.

Responsibilities

Perform Transport Network Management in engineering/operations; act as SME.
Handle Tier-2 trouble escalations for SONET, OTN, DWDM.
Coordinate Tier-2 network implementations, provisioning, configurations, and test/turn-up.
Coordinate deactivation/decommission of Transport devices.
Maintain technical SOPs and documentation for Transport discipline.
Develop network diagrams and review as-built documentation.
