Job summary

General Motors seeks an ADAS Sensor Execution Lead to drive end-to-end planning and delivery across sensor engineering, program management, product management, and vehicle program teams.

The role requires a strong technical leader who translates strategy into executable plans, identifies dependencies, and ensures on-time delivery of ADAS sensor products. Travel <25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering/technical experience and/or a proven record of ADAS sensor development and execution across multiple teams
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain integrated end-to-end program plans across Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, and Vehicle Program teams
• Define and manage milestones, acceptance criteria, critical-path dependencies, and delivery timelines
• Lead planning rhythms: kickoffs, milestone reviews, retrospectives, and cross-functional alignment forums
• Track health, risks, blockers, and delivery commitments across current production products
• Support hardware design changes, part number revisions, and DV/PV test planning to keep programs on track
• Define launch-readiness criteria and coordinate go/no-go decisions with partners
• Author status updates, executive briefings, and decision materials
• Build scalable operating models and workflows for cross-functional programs
• Develop workload estimates and maintain planning inputs in Jira Align
• Coach and mentor engineers within ADAS Sensor Design and Release Engineering

About The Role

The ADAS Sensors and Sensing Systems team is looking for an ADAS Sensor Execution Lead to drive end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery across sensor engineering, program management, product management, and vehicle program teams. This role is designed for a strong technical leader who can translate strategy into executable plans, create alignment across partner teams, and ensure functional ADAS sensor products are delivered with quality and on time.

As our portfolio expands across current production programs and future launches, this position will serve as the operational bridge across stakeholders, helping the organization move from reactive execution to structured, proactive delivery.

What you'll do

• Own and maintain integrated end-to-end program plans across Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, and Vehicle Program teams.
• Define and manage milestones, acceptance criteria, critical-path dependencies, and delivery timelines.
• Lead key planning and execution rhythms, including program kickoffs, milestone reviews, retrospectives, and ongoing cross-functional alignment forums.
• Partner closely with engineering leads to track health, risks, blockers, and delivery commitments across current production products and ensure issues are surfaced early.
• Support execution of hardware design changes, part number revisions, parts ordering, and DV/PV test planning as needed to keep programs on track.
• Drive resolution of cross-team dependencies affecting engineering execution, including infrastructure software, release readiness, testing, and calibration activities.
• Lead structured intake and planning for future product launches and convert product strategy and requirements into engineering-ready execution plans.
• Define launch-readiness criteria and coordinate go/no-go or ok-to-ship alignment with partner organizations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders on program status, delivery commitments, risks, and escalations.
• Author clear status updates, executive briefings, and decision materials, and facilitate alignment when scope, priority, or timeline conflicts arise.
• Build scalable operating models, templates, and workflows that improve how cross-functional programs are planned, tracked, and delivered.
• Develop workload and resource estimates and maintain planning inputs in Jira Align Cloud.
• Coach, mentor, and help develop fellow engineers within the ADAS Sensor Design and Release Engineering organization.

Minimum Qualifications (must-have)

• 5+ years of engineering/technical experience and/or a proven record of ADAS sensor development (3+ years) and execution requiring coordination across multiple teams, senior executives, and front-line engineers
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ADAS, sensing systems, automotive hardware, embedded systems, or vehicle launch execution.
• Familiarity with validation planning, release processes, and integrated hardware/software delivery.
• Experience with Jira Align Cloud or similar planning and portfolio management tools.
• Experience coaching or mentoring engineers in a technical organization.
• Experience driving technical strategy or cross-functional alignment across multiple teams

The selected candidate will be required to travel <25% for this role.
