Job summary

The Attalon Integrated Optical Systems unit in Richmond, CA, seeks an Optical Tech Sr for 3rd shift (Sun–Fri, 9:30pm–6:00am). You will load and align components, prepare and monitor polishing processes, and maintain specifications in a precision manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma with 2 years of college or trade training and 5–7 years in advanced manufacturing, including experience with micrometers and calipers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 2 years of college or trade school preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in advanced manufacturing.
• Experience operating precision hand tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Basic shop math: ratios, graphs, algebra, geometry.

Responsibilities

• Manufactures optical components in a production environment by loading and aligning components on fabrication machines and modifying setup parameters.
• Prepares equipment by positioning polishing heads, tooling, and monitoring polishing slurries.
• Maintains in-process specifications and controls and determines operation sequences from work instructions.
• Measures part dimensions using micrometers, height gauges, and other tools.
• Monitors processes and works with engineering to drive improvements.
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance to keep equipment operating.
• Contributes to a collaborative, productive team environment.
