Job summary

Lyte AI is seeking a Senior Optical Engineer to own optical components and subsystems from definition to production support. You will lead lens design, perform tolerancing and Monte Carlo analyses, and collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to meet performance targets.

The role requires hands-on testing, familiarity with optical measurement methods, and cross-functional collaboration across optics, mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software teams.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics or related field.
• Hands-on experience in lens or optical system design.
• Proficiency with Zemax OpticStudio, CODE V or equivalent.
• Strong fundamentals in optical engineering and testing.

Responsibilities

• Own optical design for lenses, windows, mirrors and components from requirements through qualification and production support.
• Develop and optimize designs using Zemax OpticStudio, CODE V, including tolerancing and Monte Carlo analysis.
• Lead design reviews and coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.
• Plan and execute hands-on optical testing and measurements (MTF, WFE, distortion, stray light).
• Correlate measurements with simulations to drive improvements.
