Job description

Job ID: 2894824 | Amazon.com Services LLC

As a Senior Optical Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

Key job responsibilities:

  1. Work with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to develop high level system architectures, and define subsystem and component level requirements.
  2. Develop, design, model, fabricate, and test optical components, diffractive elements, and imaging systems.
  3. Work with component engineering and product engineering teams to provide rapid prototyping and characterization of optical systems.
  4. Using a combination of modeling and laboratory data collection, validate the capability of proposed optical architectures across variations in design and manufacturing methods, and where possible drive performance advances.
  5. Work with external vendors, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to broaden and optimize design and manufacturing space.

A day in the life

The Senior Optical Engineer will work closely with a team of optical, mechanical, electrical and software engineers engaged in the design of innovative consumer products.
