Job summary

Drexel University is seeking a Part-Time per diem Senior Technical Services Specialist to support the Ophthalmic Repair Department and the Department of Technology Services. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Experience in design, engineering, and fabrication of optical equipment.
• Ability to lift and move large pieces of equipment safely.
• Experience negotiating equipment purchases and managing inventory.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
• Coordinate equipment orders, pricing, receiving, and distribution with vendors.
• Mentor repair technicians and assist in parts ordering and inventory control.
• Design, engineer, and fabricate optical equipment and accessories as needed.
• Calibrate and repair a wide range of ophthalmic instruments across sites.
• Manage inventory and movement of equipment between campus and satellites.
