Job description

Job Title: Senior Operations Manager - Paint Plant

As the Senior Operations Manager of the Paint Plant, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the solvent and water-based manufacturing plants. Your role encompasses Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), production, quality control, continuous improvement, maintenance and engineering, as well as receiving and shipping within the resin operation. Additionally, you will oversee the execution of roadmap projects and be a key member of the PPG Delaware leadership team. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager at our Delaware, Ohio manufacturing facility, you will lead quality assurance and process improvement initiatives within the resin operation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership in EHS: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and foster a culture of safety.
  2. Process Improvement: Utilize quality methods, Lean, Six Sigma, and other tools to optimize production flow, improve quality, and reduce costs.
  3. Continuous Improvement: Initiate and lead team actions for ongoing process enhancements.
  4. Team Development: Engage and develop associates to build team capabilities.
  5. Union Relations: Support HR in managing relationships with union workforce.
  6. Strategic Planning: Implement the plant's future state roadmap to meet strategic objectives.
  7. Supply Chain Support: Collaborate on inventory management, logistics, and procurement.
  8. Communication: Ensure alignment and understanding across supporting functions regarding operational goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or chemistry.
  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience in paint or chemical manufacturing.
  • Lean and Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification (preferred).
  • Strong project management skills.
