Job description

Food has lost its soul to modern convenience. And with it, has lost the power to nourish, inspire, and connect us. So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 35 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.

Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.

If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.

The Role

As Senior Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for providing a best-in-class experience to our eaters and our chefs.

You will be working closely with the Sr Market Director and Sr. Kitchen Manager to grow a cross-functional team, roll out new initiatives, and build the operation for future scale. Great leadership and problem-solving ability are essential– you’ll manage a local team and ensure operational excellence.

The key to the role will be positioning fulfillment operations for growth.

Success for this role will be measured by customer satisfaction and profitability of operations, constantly identifying key opportunities and spearheading projects focused on effectively scaling our business for growth.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations and hold a high level of accountability as a leader in your team, while constantly pushing to meet targets and creating operational efficiencies.
  • You'll be partnering with other teams such as Customer Experience, Engineering, and Product to develop strong processes to minimize errors and ensure maximum productivity.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple complex projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation
  • Insure continuous improvement to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the warehouse
  • Map out, drive and continuously improve the day-to-day operations in a hyper-growth environment, effectively engaging, motivating and directing the team to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of customer orders
  • Implement a solid and efficient process and procedures for essential warehouse functions (receiving, shipping, and distribution) to ensure high productivity
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of leadership experience in order fulfillment, transportation, and/or warehouse management operations
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills. Being able to speak conversational Spanish and/or another language is mandatory!
  • Comprehensive background in Production, Shipping, Receiving, and Warehousing (e-commerce and food delivery industries preferred)
  • Effective project management skills, well-versed in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement
  • Experience using large databases and e-commerce framework (we use Magento and OnFleet)
  • Must be able to accommodate flexible working hours including early morning, late night, weekends and holidays
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 100 pounds
  • Work in temperature controlled environments
  • PTO policy and paid sick days
  • We grow, you grow: Stock Options Plan granted on Day 1.
  • Eligible for bi-annual performance bonus
  • Family leave fully paid
  • Compassionate Leave: 3-5 days each time the need arises
  • A generous amount of CookUnity credits to enjoy our amazing meals, added to your account, monthly
  • ️ Wellness perks: access to a nutritional coach and fitness subsidies to build a healthy lifestyle
  • Awesome opportunity to join a company that is looking to change how we eat and how chefs work!

️5- year Sabbatical: After 5 years with CookUnity, you get a 4-week paid sabbatical
