Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an Operations Manager in the Construction Materials sector to lead operations, drive project delivery, allocate resources, and manage budgets. The role collaborates with Market Sector Leads, Technical Directors, and Client Relationship Managers to align staffing, performance, and client outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have a mining/geology background with 12+ years in consulting or PM/operations, plus 5+ years of supervisory experience and relevant registrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geologic engineering, geology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant consulting, technical, project management, operations, or industry experience preferred.
• 5+ years of project management, program management, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Professional registration (PE or PG), project management certification, or technical credential preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate resource allocation for project managers and staff; maintain visibility of backlog, workload, schedules, and staffing requirements.
• Lead multiple complex projects with diverse teams; ensure delivery per scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations.
• Manage program budgets, forecasts, invoicing, and monthly reporting of financial performance; supervise and mentor staff.
• Support business development; participate in client calls; identify opportunities and represent technical capabilities at events.
