Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Operations Manager for chemical manufacturing in Brookfield Center, CT. The role oversees day-to-day chemical handling and packaging operations, leading a 30–40 person team across planning, scheduling, packaging, and shipping.

Responsibilities include safety training, regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA), and continuous improvement initiatives to boost throughput and reduce waste. On-site position with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field; 5+ years operations management in manufacturing/chemical environments.
• Experience with chemical handling, packaging, and hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of chemical handling and packaging teams to meet production targets and customer demand.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 30–40 staff across planning, scheduling, packaging, and shipping.
• Train and mentor employees on safety procedures, packaging methods, and chemical handling protocols.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA and internal safety standards.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and training to mitigate risk and maintain a safe workplace.
• Manage production planning and scheduling to maintain material inventory and prevent shortages.
• Implement Lean and other continuous improvement initiatives to lower costs and improve efficiency.
• Identify bottlenecks and collaborate cross-functionally on solutions.
