About the Role:

As the Senior Operations Manager in our food-based warehouse, you will be a driving force behind the overall performance and success of daily operations in the facility. This position directly manages managers and supervisors across all non-production areas of the Fulfillment Center, including Receiving, Inventory, Facility Maintenance, Quality Control (QC), and Prep. You will oversee scheduling, daily operations reporting, performance management, and strategic action planning to drive operational excellence and increase productivity.

In addition to leading day-to-day operations, the Senior Operations Manager serves as the site lead for SQF, ensuring the facility maintains compliance with SQF standards and is prepared for audits and ongoing certification requirements. By managing key aspects of the supply chain and leading a diverse site leadership team, you will ensure seamless, safe, compliant, and optimized operations across the facility.

The ideal candidate is a strong, strategic leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong logical reasoning. The Senior Operations Manager balances hands‑on leadership of day-to-day operations, continuous improvement and change management, regulatory and food safety compliance, and the professional development of a large team of leaders.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a Safety-First culture in our food-based Fulfillment Center (FC). Responsible for meeting site environmental, health, quality, and safety performance metrics and maintaining or exceeding the requirements and standards of OSHA, AIB, GMP, HACCP, FSSC, FDA, and SQF.
  • Serve as the site’s primary Safe Quality Food (SQF) Practitioner and a core member of the facility’s Food Safety and Crisis Management Team.
  • Hold ultimate localized responsibility for maintaining SQF system integrity, validating compliance records, ensuring corrective actions are completed, and maintaining constant audit readiness.
  • Directly manage and develop managers and supervisors across all non-production areas of the FC, including Receiving, Inventory, Facility Maintenance, QC, and Prep. Establish clear expectations, accountability, KPIs, and development plans for the site leadership team.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations in the FC, driving performance to continuously meet both long- and short-term company goals. Prepare operating reports, establish KPIs, and provide value-driven feedback to direct reports.
  • Lead and motivate large cross-functional teams, ensuring Receiving, Inventory, Maintenance, QC, Prep, Production, and Shipping operate effectively and collaboratively to meet or exceed operational goals.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization by identifying areas of opportunity and implementing new processes to meet business needs. Implement best practices and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among different departments within the warehouse. Coordinate with logistics, inventory, and distribution teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated supply chain. Together, develop and implement strategic plans to achieve on-time delivery, maintain high product quality, and optimize turnover within the warehouse.
  • Develop a highly effective site leadership team by applying high standards for selection and continued performance; establishing clear and stretching goals; communicating and delegating key responsibilities; and actively utilizing performance, development, and career tools to their full potential.
  • Analyze operational and production data to prepare and issue performance reports, identifying areas of improvement. Proficient in root cause analysis, with the ability to develop and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Build strong professional relationships with direct reports and site HR Business Partners. Identify and effectively communicate urgent issues, both internal and external, to site HR as needed and maintain accurate administrative records.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and operational standards across all areas of responsibility.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Food Safety, Maintenance, Inventory, Supply Chain, HR, and other business partners to resolve operational challenges and drive site-wide performance.
