Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a Senior Manager of Operations- Final Mile in Oklahoma City to lead daily operations for local and regional heavy-home delivery networks, oversee fleet maintenance, and drive improvements in on-time delivery and cost per stop.

You will supervise the team, coordinate cross-dock activity, and manage carrier recruitment while collaborating with customers to expand services and maintain profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for local and regional big and bulky home delivery networks.
• Maintain a well-kept fleet of delivery trucks and schedule preventative maintenance.
• Reduce damage rates, missed delivery windows, and return product costs.
• Track key metrics like On-Time Delivery (OTD), cost-per-stop, and revenue per truck.
• Resolve high-escalation customer complaints regarding damaged property or late arrivals.
• Coordinate distribution and warehousing in a cross-dock operation.
• Promote improved and expanded services and evaluate with customers and industry reps.
• Develop plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees.
• Review costs and make changes to sustain profitable operation of divisions.
• Participate in marketing and sales efforts to meet company goals and P&L.
• Manage direct reports including Team Assistant Manager of Operations and Terminal Manager.
• Recruitment and retention of contract carriers.
