Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Senior Operations Supervisor for the second shift in Fitchburg, MA. This onsite role leads day-to-day manufacturing activities, ensures safety, quality, and efficient use of resources, and supports new product introductions.

The incumbent will develop the team, address operational issues, pursue continuous improvement with Lean Six Sigma, manage budgets and customer satisfaction, and participate in special projects and company initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Manufacturing experience highly preferred.
• Proficient technical expertise with demonstrated application.
• Experience with Industrial Engineering concepts and 5S/6S techniques.
• Knowledge of ISO and AS standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing operations: Oversee daily activities in an assigned area and use resources effectively to meet product and service quality requirements and applicable standards.
• Develop and support the team: Hire team members, support career development, assess performance, and coordinate recruitment as needed.
• Promote safety and continuous improvement: Maintain and improve areas that affect team-member safety; lead root-cause problem solving and deploy Lean Six Sigma practices.
• Manage customer, financial, and operational objectives: Monitor customer satisfaction, assist with budgets, and meet financial targets.
• Support business initiatives and company culture: Participate in customer meetings and new product introduction activities.
