Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a qualified candidate for an Operational Risk role in a hybrid environment. You will support day-to-day Operational Risk Management activities, including risk assessments, process reviews, action plans, and collaboration with internal and external partners across lines of business and IT.

Three in-office days per week in a hub location, with relocation not provided. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 4+ years in risk/controls, strong communication, and ability to work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
• Four years of experience in operational risk management or internal controls, or experience in an operational role with working knowledge of operational risk management or internal controls.
• Experience in operational risk management, internal controls, audit, or equivalent field.
• Knowledge of risk management principles and techniques incl. process flows, risk/controls identification and assessment, testing and monitoring, metrics development.
• Ability to present and interact with various levels of management.
• Ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in risk assessments across assigned business groups.
• Participate in process design reviews and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and quality.
• Carry out action plan status reporting and monitoring, and assist with root cause analysis.
• Assist process owners during the development of action plans to assess adequacy of actions taken by management.
• Participate in the execution of Process Risk Assessments.
• Participate in and support management control testing efforts.
• Collaborate with peers in the Risk Management function and various partners across the organization.
• Navigate the GRC tool to record, update and report on risk issues, risk events, action plans, etc.
