Job summary

Nscale is building a GPU cloud designed for AI workloads in the United States. We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer specializing in OpenStack Ironic to design, operate, and continuously improve bare metal provisioning platforms and related automation.

You will own the lifecycle of physical infrastructure and work with cross-functional teams including network, compute, data centre, support, and pre-sales to deliver reliable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Strong experience operating Linux systems in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of OpenStack Ironic and bare-metal provisioning.
• Experience with PXE/iPXE, DHCP, TFTP/HTTP boot and BMC technologies.
• Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code (Ansible recommended).
• Experience collaborating with upstream OpenStack communities.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable bare metal provisioning platforms with a focus on OpenStack Ironic.
• Own the full lifecycle of physical infrastructure including discovery, enrolment, provisioning, cleaning, deprovisioning, and hardware state management.
• Build provisioning workflows for a wide range of hardware profiles including GPU-enabled servers.
• Support platform upgrades, lifecycle management, and improvements across Ironic and dependencies.
• Manage integrations between Ironic and related OpenStack services like Nova, Neutron, Glance, Keystone, and Placement.
• Drive automation for hardware onboarding, firmware configuration, deployment workflows, validation, and recovery.
• Implement infrastructure automation using infrastructure-as-code and configuration management.
• Ensure provisioning platforms comply with security and operational standards.
