Job summary

CoreWeave is expanding its firmware engineering team to develop and maintain OpenBMC firmware for Baseboard Management Controllers on CoreWeave’s server platforms. You will design, implement, and test firmware in C/C++ within a Linux/OpenBMC environment, collaborating with hardware, platform software, and reliability teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in firmware or embedded systems development with Linux-based OpenBMC firmware.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, IPMI, DMTF Redfish).
• Experience with Linux driver development and hardware bring-up.
• Comfort with debugging tools such as GDB, JTAG, and serial/remote consoles.
• Basic scripting in Python or Bash for automation.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement OpenBMC firmware in C/C++ for CoreWeave’s server platforms.
• Integrate firmware with hardware and validate performance across environments.
• Optimize firmware for security and performance.
• Perform deep system-level debugging across hardware, firmware, and OS.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for firmware builds.
• Maintain and review technical documentation and participate in design reviews.
• Collaborate with hardware, platform software, and reliability teams to align firmware with datacenter goals.
