Job summary

Babylist is seeking a Senior Planner to own Open-to-Buy and inventory planning for our e-commerce business. You’ll run forecasts, replenishment, and vendor projections, working closely with Merchandising and Supply Chain to align with demand and targets.

You are an Excel power user with 6–8 years in inventory or merchandise planning, ideally in retail. This role emphasizes tactical execution in planning systems and AI-enabled tools to improve accuracy and speed.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience in inventory or merchandise planning, ideally in e-commerce or retail.
• Proficient in retail math, forecasting, and inventory planning concepts and best practices.
• Excel power user with ability to analyze data, spot trends, and translate insights into clear actions.
• Own Open-to-Buy at the department or category level and manage day-to-day tradeoffs across sales, inventory, and margin.
• Comfortable owning vendor forecasts, projections, and ongoing communication.

Responsibilities

• Own Open-to-Buy for departments, managing sales, inventory, margin, and turn targets.
• Maintain and update forecasts in the planning system, keeping them accurate and aligned with current trends.
• Execute replenishment and order writing for your categories, ensuring inventory flows with forecasts and capacity.
• Partner with Merchandising on daily decisions, supporting assortment execution and inventory strategies.
• Own vendor forecasting and lead planning meetings with vendors to review forecasts and risks.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain on inbound timing, inventory flow, and near‑term execution needs.
• Monitor weekly sales and inventory performance, flag risks and opportunities, adjust plans as needed.
• Support pre-season planning by building bottom‑up forecasts aligned to assortment strategies and budget goals.
