Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking a Hydraulic Shovel Technician in Elko, Nevada, to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment including hydraulic shovels, drills, and excavators.

You will work with a field maintenance team to minimize downtime and ensure safety and reliability across mining operations. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, strong mechanical and electrical understanding, and the ability to interpret schematics and manuals.

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and equipment manuals.
• Commitment to safety standards, including LOTO and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth diagnostics on hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Disassemble, repair, and replace hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and lubrication per manufacturer specs.
• Interpret schematics and manuals to guide repairs safely and effectively.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records for lifecycle tracking and compliance.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to resolve complex issues.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
