Job summary

Ramos CS, now a part of Colliers Engineering & Design, actively hired a Resident Engineer to support the Willow Rock Energy Storage Center in Kern County, CA. The role oversees four 130 MW turbine trains, thermal storage, and a 19-mile 230kV interconnection, serving as the primary technical resource.

Qualifications include a CA PE license and 10+ years in heavy industrial construction, with energy storage and EPC collaboration experience. Full-time field presence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering.
• Active California PE license required.
• 10+ years in heavy industrial construction with field engineering exposure.
• Experience on power generation or energy storage projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior on-site engineering lead, addressing contractor questions.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders for technical accuracy.
• Oversee Field Engineers and Inspectors with guidance and quality control.
• Monitor construction progress against design documents and schedule.
• Lead site meetings and technical coordination calls.
• Review and approve engineering docs, as-built conditions, and design changes.
• Identify field conditions requiring re-design or contract changes.
• Promote a safety-first approach on site.
