Job summary

Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced Senior Product Design & Development Engineer to join our Michigan-based team onsite. You will drive mechanical and electromechanical design across the full product lifecycle for automotive and transportation components.

The role emphasizes hands-on CAD modeling, GD&T, DFMEA, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to move concepts into validated, manufacturable products with robust performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical or electromechanical product design and development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Hands-on experience designing mechanical or electromechanical products.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks, or CATIA.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical components, including connectors and housings.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models, drawings, and product specifications.
• Perform GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM/DFA.
• Support product development from concept through prototyping, validation, and launch.
• Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, calculations, and root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate materials, performance, tolerances, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Collaborate with tooling, manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot fit, function, assembly, and reliability issues.
• Support testing, validation, engineering changes, and production launch.
