Job summary

GSK is seeking a Scientific Director of Safety Evaluation & Risk Management in oncology, based in the United States. You will lead pharmacovigilance activities, shape safety strategy across clinical development, and ensure robust benefit-risk profiles for assets in development.

The role partners across functions to drive risk mitigation, prepare safety submissions, and mentor junior team members in a global matrix environment. Hybrid work model with on-site governance meetings.

Qualifications

• Degree in health or life sciences (BS/PharmD/MD/PhD) required.
• 5+ years in pharmacovigilance or drug safety in pharma/biotech.
• Experience in signal detection, safety surveillance, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead pharmacovigilance activities and risk mitigation strategies for assigned oncology assets and clinical trials.
• Drive the evaluation and interpretation of safety data, including signal detection and assessment.
• Develop strategic approaches for safety issue evaluation within clinical development programs.
• Contribute to safety components of global regulatory submissions (e.g., INDs, DSURs, IBs).
• Perform literature review, clinical data synthesis, and integrated safety analyses to inform decision-making.
• Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of outputs while managing multiple priorities.
