Job summary

Qualifications

• BSN degree and seven years nursing experience with oncology exposure.
• Current RN license in practicing state and CPR certification.
• OCN certification or strong oncology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mixes and administers chemotherapy, hydration and other meds under physician supervision.
• Assists physician with exams and procedures and manages patient flow.
• Records patient data prior to visits, including vitals, allergies and meds.
• Maintains exam room disinfection and screens for changes in condition.
• Completes chemotherapy charge forms and handles pre-authorization steps.
• Operates ambulatory infusion pumps and documents usage.
• Calculates doses and advises physician on dosage modifications.
• Performs venipuncture and accesses central lines; administers meds.
• Documents assessments and teaching in patient chart; communicates with physician.
• Triages calls and coordinates referrals; facilitates patient education.
