Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida seeks an experienced lead oncology pharmacist to oversee a service area within the pharmacy, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality medication care across cancer programs.

You will collaborate with clinical teams, participate in budgeting and quality improvement, and drive safety, regulatory and accreditation compliance. A PharmD (or BS with oncology experience) and leadership track are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
• Registered Pharmacist (RPh).
• Minimum equivalent of 3 years of oncology pharmacy experience (3 years of oncology experience or completion of Oncology Specialty residency).
• Experience with the medication use process in a hospital and/or clinic setting.
• PharmD.
• Working knowledge of the administrative, clinical and technical functioning of a cancer center pharmacy.
• Prior management experience and a clinical background in cancer related areas.
• Previous involvement in fields of patient safety, performance improvement, data collection required, and regulatory or accreditation processes is desired.
• Advanced knowledge with computer applications, database, and statistical analysis skills.
• Experience with staff development programs.
• Interaction with national networks of colleagues for purposes of benchmarking, and jointly influencing professional policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, structure, and motivation to a specific service area of the pharmacy and manage assigned staff.
• Interact and collaborate with other Moffitt departments and programs.
• Support all cancer center staff engaged in medication related activity, including patient care, research, education, and business.
• Supervise and coordinate the operations of pharmacy services in areas of assigned responsibility, ensuring integration with other departments.
• Lead efforts to ensure quality, safety, regulatory, financial, and legal standards are met for optimal patient care.
• Assist with developing budgets and mid-year adjustments as needed for trends and needs.
