Job summary

Waabi is building the most reliable autonomous vehicle platform. The Onboard Sensors Team is expanding to field, ruggedize, and productionize sensor systems for Waabi Driver, enabling safer and more scalable navigation on roads and freeways.

You will tackle integration across LIDAR, RADAR, cameras, and related hardware on live vehicles, deploying and debugging software daily. Collaborate with engineers, operators, and field teams while advancing the sensor platform for production use.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working on fielded sensor systems (cameras, lidar, radar, GPS, IMU).
• Enjoy collaborating with large cross-functional teams spanning engineering to operations.
• Passion for writing efficient, readable, and testable code.
• Expert level in C/C++ or Rust (Rust preferred) in resource-constrained environments.
• Led engineering efforts to solve critical systems problems.
• Fielded and debugged Linux systems below application level.
• Strong understanding of time in coordinated systems.

Responsibilities

• Help shape the Waabi sensors platform as it scales.
• Solve integration issues across sensor modalities (LIDAR, RADAR, cameras).
• Deploy and debug software on real vehicles in the field daily.
• Integrate new sensor types into onboard platforms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design innovative sensor solutions.
• Work with operations teams to understand live system behavior and mature the system.
