Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc in Chattanooga is seeking a Journeyman Pressman for the Chattanooga Manufacturing site. The role focuses on operating and maintaining the Offset Head Press, performing print production tasks, and training fellow press personnel.

You will ensure safety, quality, and production standards, assist the 1st Pressperson, and cover duties during absences. Overtime is required and flexibility is essential in rotating night shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED minimum.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedures.
• Minimum of 5 years Offset experience as a first or second pressperson.
• Ability to react quickly and adjust to produce top quality products.
• Normal vision; must pass a colorblind test.
• Drug screening required after conditional job offer.

Responsibilities

• Assist the 1st Pressperson in operating the Offset Press.
• Operate the press feed section.
• Prep press for next run: sheets, plates, ink.
• Assist in training other press personnel.
• Maintain overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
• Work overtime as required.
