Job summary

Quidient seeks a Senior Offline Mapping Engineer to own and advance offline mapping and 3D reconstruction systems. You will engineer across SfM, MVS, and deep learning components to improve accuracy in textureless and reflective environments.

The role is hybrid in Columbia, MD with opportunities to push production-quality pipelines. You will collaborate with SLAM and real-time mapping teams, broaden calibration and dense reconstruction capabilities, and contribute to production-ready software

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in CS, CV, Robotics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience building offline SfM, MVS, or dense reconstruction systems in production.
• Strong C++ and Python programming.
• Deep knowledge of multiview geometry, bundle adjustment, nonlinear estimation, and practical failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and advance offline mapping and reconstruction pipeline to improve accuracy in challenging capture scenarios.
• Reduce pose estimation failures and increase geometric accuracy in textureless, reflective, and large-scale scenes.
• Integrate deep learning components (learned matching, depth priors, learned outlier rejection) with classical SfM/MVS pipelines.
• Improve calibration pipelines, bundle adjustment robustness, and dense reconstruction fidelity in offline contexts.
