Job summary

Bristol City Council is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist for a fixed term/secondment of 24 months within the South Locality Team. The role blends expert clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, supporting service development and ensuring timely, strengths-based interventions to maximise independence and safety.

You will supervise teams, lead on complex assessments, and work across multidisciplinary colleagues, with hybrid working arrangements and enhanced DBS checks in place.

Responsibilities

• Lead on complex moving and handling, postural assessments and risk management plans.
• Provide expert Occupational therapy input into multidisciplinary decision-making forums, panels, and case discussions.
• Supervise and support Occupational Therapists, Social Care Practitioners, and OT assistants within the service.
• Support practitioners to undertake high quality Care Act Assessments, Carer assessments, S42 Enquiry planning, Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest Assessments.
