Job summary

Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) seeks a Senior Occupational Therapist for the Bronx Early Learning Center. The role involves pediatric OT assessments, developing treatment plans, supervising COTAs, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to support children in preschool.

Responsibilities include direct intervention, evaluation, documentation, ethical compliance, and ongoing professional development to maintain licensure.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and NY state license.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience and/or pediatric training.
• NBCOT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Document services for VOA and payers.
• Follow OT Code of Ethics and VOA policies.
• Maintain treatment areas and equipment.
• Provide clinical and clerical supervision to COTA.

• Support ongoing professional development for licensure.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: Senior Occupational Therapist

The Senior Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy treatment to children in the pre-school setting, performs occupational therapy assessments and supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA's).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and minimum of 5 years' experience and/or training in pediatrics.
• Licensed as a New York State Occupational Therapist.
• Certification from the National Board for the Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

Senior Occupational Therapist Principal Responsibilities:

• Implements the occupational therapy intervention plan directly or in collaboration with others.
• Screens and evaluates children to obtain and interpret data necessary for planning intervention and for treatment planning. Performs advanced, specialized evaluations or assessments as indicated by an individual child's needs.
• Documents services as required by Volunteers of America as well as third party payers.
• Follows to the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice as well as Volunteers of America policies and procedures.
• Maintains treatment areas, and equipment as required.
• Provide clinical and clerical supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Review and cosign documentation, notes and reports for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Provide oversight of prescription management for COTA's caseload
• Participate in professional development activities as mandated by the Volunteers of America and by the requirements for the continuation of occupational therapy licensure.
