Job summary

Novartis Group of Companies is seeking a Lead for the Occupational Health Program at our Durham, North Carolina campus. The HSE Specialist will develop and continuously improve critical programs across chemical hygiene, hazard communication, respiratory protection, ergonomics, hearing conservation, and more, collaborating across site departments to ensure regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HSE program development and management experience in manufacturing or laboratory environments.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environment disciplines and regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve Occupational Health programs (Chemical Hygiene, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Ergonomics, Hearing Conservation, Confined Space, Occupational Medical).
• Serve as Chemical Hygiene Officer with inventory management, risk assessments, and training.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, facilities and support functions to enhance HSE programs.
• Provide technical HSE support for new equipment, process changes, and site changes.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs and foster a proactive safety culture.
• Lead inspections, investigations, audits, and regulatory activities with corrective actions.
• Analyze HSE performance trends and drive continuous improvement across site.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
