Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an experienced occupant safety engineer to drive CAE development for frontal and side impact performance, optimize restraint systems, and ensure regulatory compliance across North American vehicle programs.

You will develop high-fidelity LS‑Dyna models, coordinate with Safety Structures, Interior, Chassis and suppliers, and translate simulation results into actionable design guidance.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of automotive occupant safety engineering experience.
• Strong LS-Dyna experience for occupant protection and crash simulation.
• Experience tuning and optimizing airbags, seat belts, seats, steering columns, instrument panels, interior trim.
• Strong knowledge of FMVSS 208, FMVSS 214, US-NCAP, IIHS.
• Experience correlating CAE and physical crash test results.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain occupant protection CAE models using LS-Dyna.
• Support frontal and side impact simulation activities throughout vehicle development.
• Ensure CAE models reflect latest vehicle design and CAD releases.
• Maintain correlation between component-level and system-level CAE models.
• Analyze simulation results and develop recommendations to improve occupant protection outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to integrate models into full vehicle simulations.
