U.S. Bank is seeking a senior Reliability Engineer specializing in observability to translate customer journeys into measurable reliability objectives.

You will lead the design and governance of SLIs, SLOs, dashboards, and telemetry, ensuring production-ready instrumentation across enterprise applications. Role requires strong expertise in observability tooling (Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and collaboration with product, SRE, and operations teams to reduce incidents and improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Six to eight years of relevant work experience in IT service management, production support, or application development
• Experience with observability tooling and reliability engineering practices

Responsibilities

• Define, implement and govern Observability across Critical Customer Journeys to meet reliability objectives.
• Develop and maintain executive and operational dashboards showing availability, latency, impact, and SLO compliance.
• Lead governance for dashboards, alerts, synthetic monitoring, telemetry standards, and related observability artifacts.
• Provide senior guidance on distributed tracing, logging, metrics, synthetic testing, and alert governance to engineering and operations teams.
• Partner with product owners, SRE, and ops to ensure applications are production-ready and instrumented for reliability.
