Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an Observability Engineer to design and operate the full observability stack across metrics, logs, and traces. The role emphasizes usability, signal quality, and ROI, with a focus on scalable deployments of Prometheus, Thanos, Mimir, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and Datadog.

You will set instrumentation standards, define SLOs/SLIs, and build dashboards and alerting to support engineering and business decision-making, while mentoring teams and driving cost-aware

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in SRE/platform observability roles.
• Hands-on with Prometheus, Grafana, and at least one major observability platform (Datadog/New Relic/Splunk).
• Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry, tracing, and structured logging.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience operating high-cardinality, high-throughput metrics/log pipelines.
• Knowledge of SLOs, error budgets, and incident management integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate enterprise-grade observability platforms (metrics, logs, traces, events).
• Architect deployments for Prometheus/Thanos/Mimir, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog.
• Set instrumentation standards and logging conventions, adopt OpenTelemetry.
• Define SLOs/SLIs, build dashboards and alerts.
• Lead incident response improvements and post-incident analysis tooling.
• Mentor teams on observability fundamentals and SRE practices.
• Maintain runbooks and documentation for the observability stack.
