Job summary

Mass General Brigham Incorporated in Somerville, MA is seeking a Senior Observability Systems Engineer to strengthen reliability and visibility of critical digital services. You will deploy Dynatrace and ThousandEyes, build automation with Terraform, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve monitoring and incident response.

This hands-on role focuses on platform engineering, DevOps practices, and observability, including CI/CD instrumentation in Azure and creating custom Dynatrace

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required; relevant experience may substitute.
• 5–7 years of systems engineering or related technical role experience.
• Hands-on Dynatrace experience including APM, infrastructure, and real user monitoring.
• Terraform for configuration-as-code and Dynatrace provider usage.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and familiarity with GitHub Enterprise.
• Strong Python and JavaScript for automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and optimize Dynatrace and ThousandEyes across enterprise services.
• Build dashboards, alerts, and management zones to improve visibility.
• Develop configuration-as-code with Terraform and manage pipelines in Azure DevOps (moving to GitHub Enterprise).
• Create Dynatrace extensions to extend monitoring coverage.
• Instrument applications and implement observability in CI/CD pipelines.
• Onboard and validate instrumentation across applications and infrastructure.
• Automate alerting and remediation to reduce MTTR and uptime.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, network, and security teams to align observability standards.
• Document best practices and provide guidance to teams.
